Bowen Island: Squamish Traditional Territory

February 8, 2021

A 20-minute ferry ride from Vancouver across Howe Sound lies Bowen Island, a special place where life is simpler, less stressful, quieter. Find rest and recreation by swimming at a sandy beach, hitting 9-holes at the scenic Bowen Island Golf Course, or taking a paddling tour around the island’s many inlets.

Local food and drink options abound, too. There are two cideries, Bowen Cider House and Riley’s Cidery, plus Copper Spirit Distillery, all of which offer tastings on site. Year-round specialty shops serve artisan chocolate and hearty sandwiches, while restaurants with scenic views serve everything from gourmet pub fare to bistro cuisine.

The island’s strong artistic spirit shines through galleries and shops at Artisan Square, as well as events like the Bowen Art Walk, studio tours and the annual Write on Bowen Festival in August.

See all that Bowen Island has to offer on tourismbowenisland.com.
