RIEP is a collaborative network of creative artists, entrepreneurs, micro-enterprises, small businesses, and community organizations from BC’s rural islands, organized as a non-profit society.
We share information, support each other, and jointly advocate for policies and programs to ensure resilient and sustainable island economies.
Indigenous and non-Indigenous rural island individuals, businesses, organizations, and their allies are welcome to join RIEP.
Membership is the basis of RIEP and we need rural islanders and the people, businesses, and organizations connected to the rural islands to participate.
Your membership fee goes toward supporting the programs and services of RIEP and gives you access to these programs and services and additional perks including discounts for events.
Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals, businesses, organizations, and their allies who participate indirectly or indirectly in the economic capacity and development of British Columbia's rural islands are welcome to join RIEP.
A person engaged directly, or indirectly, in economic capacity and development that impacts the stakeholder region of the Partnership.
Some examples of individual members include Indigenous and non-Indigenous artisans who have artists studios on the rural islands but are not registered as businesses; an individual community member who volunteers for a local community organization but who is not representing that organization in RIEP; a resident of an adjacent rural island community who frequently travels to a rural island for business.
Note, the same person cannot join as more than one type of member.
Apply as a business if you are representing your business and you conduct business operations on one or more of the BC rural islands.
Businesses include sole proprietors, general partnerships, and small businesses that are not registered as corporations, that operate in the stakeholder region of the Partnership. The voting power of such memberships will be assigned to a dedicated individual representing the business.
Note, the same person cannot join as more than one type of member.
Organizations include corporations, non-profit societies, partnerships, associations, governments (including Crown Corporations and First Nations) engaged directly or indirectly in community economic capacity building in the region. Some examples include Chambers of Commerce, Tribal Councils, local and provincial government departments, and community services organizations.
The voting power of such memberships will be assigned to a dedicated individual representing the Organization.
Note, the same person cannot join as more than one type of member.
RIEP memberships are for 12 months from the date of sign-up and are renewable online. You will receive an email notification at your supplied email address when your membership is up for renewal.
