As rural islanders and remote coastal community residents, we face complex and challenging issues that threaten the continued economic health and well-being of our communities. In fact – we are all connected – no one community can become resilient alone.

RIEP is passionate about keeping the islands and the coast vibrant and thriving by facilitating a respectful network of rural-coastal communities within the traditional territories of indigenous peoples, where we live and work.

Our network of creative artists, entrepreneurs, micro-enterprises, small businesses, and community organizations share information, support each other, and jointly advocate for policies and programs to ensure resilient and sustainable rural island economies. If you've been to our Forum or Connection Cafe events, you know we have a good time doing it!
