As rural Islanders, we face complex and challenging issues that threaten the continued economic health and well-being of our communities. And, we know that no single island can become resilient alone.
RIEP is passionate about keeping the islands vibrant and thriving by facilitating a respectful network of rural island communities within the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples, where we live and work.
RIEP is connecting and celebrating the unique character and culture of each island. We do this by facilitating collaboration and action to realize shared goals for enduring socio-economic well-being, and for that we rely on support of members and allies from across the islands and throughout BC.
By JOINING RIEP TODAY you are helping to support keeping BC’s rural islands vibrant and thriving!!

ShapeContribute to rural islands focused programming by joining a RIEP Committee, such as the one to help shape the RIEP Forum --- where we gather to celebrate and empower our rural island communities. |
RIEP Supporters Speak:
“One of the key benefits of the Forum was networking and shared knowledge. I would expect that will continue to be the benefit I will derive from membership, as well as being connected to a rural island focused network.”
"RIEP understands that island life and islanders approach things differently. Each island has unique qualities, characters and ecologies but our values overlap. RIEP will be invited to the table to represent rural island values, challenges, and desires. The unified voice will have a greater impact."
"Standing together for strength in numbers to address common issues and problems."
