Stakeholder

A British Columbia resident, business or organization who is located in or operates in the stakeholder regions*.
Stakeholder Members are voting members of RIEP.

Individuals - $25 + GST

A person engaged directly, or indirectly, in economic capacity / development that impacts the stakeholder region of the Partnership and/or members of indigenous communities with traditional or reserve lands located within the stakeholder region of the Partnership, may apply to the Board for membership in the Society, and the person becomes a member upon the Board’s acceptance of the application.

BC Rural Island Business / Sole Proprietor - $35-50 + GST

Businesses, including sole proprietors, (“Entity”) that operate in the stakeholder region of the Partnership, may apply with for the Entity to become a member of the Society, upon the Board’s acceptance of the application. The voting power of such memberships shall, in each case, be assigned to a dedicated individual representing the applying Entity.

A. Business / Sole Proprietor with Revenues (less than or equal to) < = $50k - Annual Fee: $35.00 $36.75

B. Business / Sole Proprietor with Revenues (more than) > $50k  - Annual Fee: $50.00 $52.50

Sole Proprietor 50K or MORE - Join Now
Organizations - $50-300 + GST

Corporations, Societies, Partnerships, Associations, Governments (including Crown Corporations and First Nations) (“Organization”) engaged directly, or indirectly, in community economic capacity building may apply with for the Organization to become a member of the Society, upon the Board’s acceptance of the application. The voting power of such memberships shall, in each case, be assigned to a dedicated individual representing the applying Organization.

A. NPOs / Associations actively supporting the social and economic well-being of communities within the Stakeholder Region:

With annual budgets (less than or equal to) < = $100K - Annual Fee: $50.00 $52.50

NPO/Association 100K or LESS - Join Now

With annual budgets (more than) > $100k - Annual Fee: $75.00 $78.75

NPO/Association MORE than 100K - Join Now

B. Corporate entities serving communities within the Stakeholder Region:

With annual revenues (less than or equal to) <=$250k - Annual Fee: $150.00 $157.50

Corporation 250K or LESS - Join Now

With annual revenues (more than) >$250k - Annual Fee: $300.00 $315.00

Corporations MORE than 250K - Join Now

C. Government Ministry, Crown Corporation or First Nation Governing Council - Annual Fee: $300.00 $315.00

Associate

A British Columbia resident, business or organization who is located outside of the stakeholder regions*.
Associate Members are non-voting members of RIEP.

Membership FAQ

*Stakeholders Regions:

  • 18+ rural islands of BC: including: Bowen, Broughton Archipelago, Cormorant, Cortes, Denman, Gabriola, Galiano, Gambier, Hornby, Lasqueti, Malcolm, Mayne, Pender, Quadra, Salt Spring, Saturna, Texada, Thetis
  • Rural and remote coastal communities – from Port Hardy to Tofino, Sayward to Sechelt, and Ladysmith to Sooke
  • Indigenous communities with traditional and reserve lands located in these coastal areas
  • RIEP memberships are for 12 months from date of sign-up and are renewable
  • The same person cannot join as both an organization and as an individual
  • A business member has to conduct business operations in one or more of the stakeholder regions
  • Voting members of RIEP are persons who are engaged directly, or indirectly, in socio-economic capacity building / development that impacts the rural islands stakeholder regions
  • Associate Members are non-voting members of RIEP
